So I heard of this new restaurant. Just started last week and have not had their official launch. I was told that the owner was from Le Cordon Bleu, Adelaide.
Here is the menu card. Very modest but very understandable as it is better to be slow in the beginning rather than going all out and lose momentum. It is kinda the strategic move I guess.
L & G, this is the roasted lamb. I know it supposed to be roasted beef but they said beef just got out of the freezer. The lamb was marinated with coriander pesto and dijon mustard, the sidekicks are potato gratin and salad with balsamic vinegar. What I can say about the dish is it may look petite in size plus simple but to me 1 serve of the dish gave me the same fullness as 1/2 three courses meals. Nutrition wise, it is complete and balance. Below is the chicken version.
Here some of KANTEEN's angles:
One important note, the way it is here is for the customers to line up and get the pack(s) of food. Which how a canteen is supposed to be. Here is the food hallway.
Overall, KANTEEN is new and yet to mature. Given the background of the owner and its concept, I will definitely pay another visit in the future to see how far it can go.
